“FROM RESET TO RHYTHM”
Practices for a New Year, a New Home, and a Way of Life

The beginning of a new year invites reflection.

For our church, this season carries added weight. As we prepare to step into a new home on February 22, we want to be just as intentional about preparing our hearts and lives.

Rather than treating prayer and fasting as a short-term reset, we’re entering a shared season of formation—one that helps establish rhythms that can sustain an entire year, and a way of life.

WHAT WE’RE PRACTICING TOGETHER: The Shared Rhythm (Jan 1 – Feb 22)

We’re inviting our church into a simple, shared rhythm during this season—not to do everything perfectly, but to practice together.

  • One day a week of fasting
Food, media, comfort, or attention—choose a practice you can keep.

  • Two short daily prayer moments
Morning and evening—simple, brief, and intentional.

  • Weekly prayer gatherings
Optional, but meaningful—especially as we pray in and around the new building.

This is about consistency, not intensity.

WHY THIS ISN’T “JUST A JANUARY THING”: From Reset to Rhythm

Many churches begin the year with prayer and fasting—and for good reason. But spiritual formation doesn’t happen in a moment. It happens through rhythms practiced over time.

This season is designed to move us from a short-term reset toward long-term rhythms that shape all of life.

A RULE OF LIFE

A Rule of Life is a way of ordering our lives around what matters most. It isn’t about legalism or performance—it’s about intentionality, freedom, and formation.

Our church revisits this practice every year, not as a challenge, but as a way of life. This season offers a natural on-ramp to begin practicing it together. Learn more about Frontier’s Rule of Life:

A SIMPLE WAY TO BEGIN

You don’t need a perfect plan to begin—just a few quiet minutes.

Reflection questions:

  • What has been shaping my rhythms lately?

  • Where do I feel hurried, distracted, or spiritually thin?

  • What kind of life do I want to be living one year from now?

  • What is one small rhythm I could begin practicing?

Prayer:

God, as this year begins, I offer You my time, my attention, and my desires.
Form in me rhythms that lead to life.
Prepare my heart for what You are doing. Amen.

Scripture:
Psalm 90:12

WALKING THIS TOGETHER

Throughout this season, we’ll share weekly prayer focuses, fasting invitations, and opportunities to gather.

Our goal is not to overwhelm—but to help us practice together, one step at a time.
