THE MONDAY PRACTICE
Jesus’ Rules For Life: Live Loved
Disruptive Discipleship Series, John 17:13–26
“That they may have My joy fulfilled in themselves… that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them even as You loved Me.” — John 17:13, 23
Bring Sunday’s Message Into Your Week
This spiritual practice guide is designed to help you take Sunday’s message and actually live it out with Jesus during the week. We don’t just want to hear the Word—we want to practice it.
Use this in your personal time with God to reflect, pray, and put the message into motion through everyday spiritual practices. Let this be a tool to slow down, surrender, and be transformed.

Reflect
Where are you chasing happiness but missing joy?
Jesus didn’t pray for your success or comfort—He prayed for your joy. A joy rooted in God’s truth, grounded in His love, and expressed in your purpose.
Take a few quiet minutes to consider:
What voices are shaping my sense of truth and happiness right now?
Am I seeking fulfillment, or just chasing fun?
Do I really believe I’m loved by the Father as Jesus is loved?
Write down what comes up.
Pray
Silent Prayer Practice (5–10 minutes):
Find a quiet space. Focus on your breathing. Slowly repeat:
Inhale: “Abba…”
Exhale: “I am Yours.”
Let your heart rest in His presence.
Prayer Declaration:
Jesus, today I choose to live as one You love.
I lay down the idols of needing more.
I receive Your joy—a joy rooted in Your truth, not in my performance.
Let Your love fill me and overflow into the lives around me.
Scripture Meditation
Read slowly and prayerfully:
John 17:13–23
John 15:9 — “As the Father has loved Me, so have I loved you. Abide in My love.”
Romans 8:38–39 — “Nothing can separate us from the love of God…”
Ask:
What phrase stands out to me?
What might God be speaking to me through this?
Write it down.
Live It Out
Choose one simple practice to live like the beloved this week:
Truth: Begin each day in Scripture before scrolling or reading the news.
Unity: Reach out to someone different from you—across age, background, or opinion—and listen or serve.
Beloved Identity: Start each morning by declaring:
“I am the one Jesus loves. I am not earning it—I’m living from it.”
Let this declaration shape your responses, choices, and relationships this week.
Discuss With Others
Use these questions with your small group or a trusted friend:
What part of Sunday’s message stayed with you?
Where in your life are you chasing shallow happiness instead of Jesus' joy?
What’s one inner lie you need to replace with the truth that you are loved?
What would change if you lived like you were fully loved by the Father?
Closing Thought
Jesus didn’t just pray for you to believe in Him—He prayed for you to live filled with joy, shaped by truth, and secure in love.
Let His prayer shape your practice this week.
