THE VISION of The Nest

A Home for Formation, Hospitality, Prayer, and Mission

For nearly ten years, Frontier Church has gathered in borrowed spaces.

School auditoriums.
Prayer Rooms.
Temporary homes.

Through every move, God has been faithful.

But for years we prayed for something more than a Sunday gathering space.

We prayed for a place where disciples could be formed, families strengthened, prayer cultivated, hospitality practiced, and mission launched.

Now, for the first time in our history, God has opened the door to a long-term home in the heart of Pasadena.

We call it The Nest.

Not because we want to stay comfortable.

But because healthy nests form and send.

This campus is not the mission.

People are the mission.

But places shape people.

And we believe God is entrusting us with a place that can help shape people for generations to come.

Why The Nest?

A nest is where life is nurtured.

It is where things grow strong enough to fly.

Throughout Scripture, God's people have always needed spaces where worship, formation, hospitality, and community could take root.

The Nest is our attempt to steward such a place.

Not as an end in itself.

But as a launching point for the Kingdom of God throughout Pasadena and beyond.

Reclaiming Sacred Space for Modern Life

Modern life is increasingly marked by hurry, distraction, loneliness, and fragmentation.

People long for places where they can slow down.

Listen.

Connect.

Pray.

Celebrate.

Mourn.

Heal.

Belong.

For centuries, churches served as sacred spaces woven into the fabric of community life.

We believe those spaces still matter.

Not as monuments to the past, but as gifts for the present.

Our vision is to reclaim sacred space for meaningful human and spiritual life.

Why a Permanent Home?

For years, Frontier has faithfully adapted.

We have loaded trailers.

Set up chairs.

Moved classrooms.

Navigated uncertainty.

And God has blessed those years.

But a permanent home allows us to invest differently.

Instead of rebuilding every Sunday, we can build for the future.

Instead of asking what is possible this week, we can ask what is possible over the next decade.

A permanent home creates stability, continuity, and opportunity.

Not for our comfort.

But for our mission.

Why Prayer?

At the center of this vision is the presence of God.

We dream of a campus where prayer rises throughout the week.

A place where people can come before work.

After school.

During difficult seasons.

In moments of celebration.

In moments of grief.

Not because prayer is one ministry among many.

But because everything else flows from communion with God.

Our hope is to create dedicated spaces where worship, prayer, and spiritual formation become part of the rhythm of this campus.

Why a Coffee Shop?

The Front Room Café is not primarily about coffee.

It is about hospitality.

Sociologists often speak of "third places"—spaces outside home and work where community naturally forms.

We believe our city needs more of those spaces.

Places where neighbors gather.

Students study.

Friends meet.

Conversations happen.

Relationships form.

And where the beauty of Jesus quietly shapes the atmosphere.

The Front Room is our attempt to create that kind of place.

A welcoming front room for Pasadena.

Why a School?

The school is not simply a tenant.

It represents something deeper.

We want this campus filled with life throughout the week.

Children learning.

Families connecting.

Teachers investing in the next generation.

Formation does not only happen on Sundays.

We believe God cares deeply about how children are educated, nurtured, and prepared for life.

A thriving school helps make this campus a place of learning, growth, and community every day of the week.

Why Weddings and Events?

For generations, churches were places where people celebrated life's most meaningful moments.

Weddings.

Receptions.

Anniversaries.

Community gatherings.

Moments of beauty and covenant.

We believe sacred spaces should once again be places where people mark significant moments of life together.

Weddings and events help sustain the campus financially.

But more than that, they help restore beauty, hospitality, and celebration to sacred space.

Why Now?

The story of this building has not been straightforward.

There were closed doors.

Delays.

Disappointments.

Unexpected turns.

At times it seemed the opportunity had passed.

But looking back, we see God's faithfulness in every step.

What once felt delayed returned with greater clarity, healthier terms, stronger alignment, and deeper peace.

The timing is not accidental.

We believe God has entrusted Frontier with this opportunity for such a time as this.

The Future We See

We see a campus where:

  • People encounter Jesus.

  • Families are strengthened.

  • Kids are discipled.

  • Prayer rises throughout the week.

  • Hospitality flourishes.

  • Creativity is cultivated.

  • The city is welcomed in.

  • Disciples are formed and sent.

This is not simply a building project.

It is an investment in the kind of church we hope to become.

A place where people are formed in the presence of God and sent into the world with hope.

Welcome to The Nest.
