THE MONDAY PRACTICE

The Call That Disrupts Everything
Disruptive Discipleship Series | Mark 1:14–20

Bring Sunday’s Message Into Your Week

This spiritual practice guide is designed to help you take Sunday’s message and actually live it out with Jesus during the week. We don’t just want to hear the Word—we want to practice it.

Use this in your personal time with God to reflect, pray, and put the message into motion through everyday spiritual practices. Let this be a tool to slow down, surrender, and be transformed.

BIG IDEA RECAP:

Jesus doesn’t fit into your life — He redefines it.
His call is not convenient. It’s disruptive.
It interrupts your comfort, reorders your priorities, and invites you into a mission greater than yourself.

The Kingdom of God isn’t a future theory — it’s a present reality.
And Jesus says, “The time is fulfilled… follow Me.”

Quiet Time Practice: Drop the Nets

Spend 20–30 minutes in silence this week with this question:

“Lord, what am I holding onto that You’re asking me to drop?”

These could be habits, fears, comforts, or patterns of self-protection — things that keep you from saying a full YES to Jesus.

Write down your top 1–2 “nets” and pray this simple prayer:

“Jesus, I drop what entangles me. I choose to follow You — not my timeline, not my plans, not my fear. Help me trust Your voice today.”

Scripture to Meditate On

“The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.”
— Mark 1:15

“Follow me, and I will make you become fishers of men.”
— Mark 1:17

Practice 1: Reorder Your Priorities

Ask yourself:

  • What’s been at the center of my schedule, my energy, or my focus lately?

  • Where is Jesus calling me to repent — to turn from self-rule toward Kingdom rule?

Then make one tangible change this week:

  • Say yes to something Jesus is calling you to.

  • Say no to something that’s “serving you” but keeping you stuck.

Practice 2: Respond to the Kairos Moment

Jesus said “the time is fulfilled” — not “think about it later.”

This week, practice immediate obedience in one area:

  • Speak to someone God puts on your heart.

  • Take the risk you've been delaying.

  • Forgive someone you’ve avoided.

  • Step into a spiritual conversation with boldness.

“Kairos” is God’s appointed time. This could be your moment.

Practice 3: Let Him Make You

You don’t have to figure it all out. Jesus doesn’t say, “Make yourself.”
He says, “Follow Me — and I will make you…”

  • Start each day this week with this prayer:

“Jesus, today I’m following You. Make me into who You’ve called me to be.”

Stay open. Stay surrendered. Watch what He does.

Reflection & Conversation Questions:

  • What part of your life is Jesus disrupting right now?

  • What “net” is He calling you to drop?

  • What would change if you treated this season as a kairos moment?

  • Who around you needs to hear this same invitation to follow?

Bonus Community Practice:

Share with a friend or in your small group:

  • A kairos moment you’ve sensed

  • A net you’ve dropped (or are struggling to drop)

  • What “following” looks like for you this week

Then check in again in 7 days.

The Kingdom is here. The time is now. The call is personal.
Drop the nets. Follow the King. And let Him make you into something more.
